Tandag organizes LPG task force

Tandag, Surigao del Sur (October 25) -- To address the clamor of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) consumers and other interested parties. A task force on LPG is formed in Tandag, recently.
Having the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as the head, the group is composed of the DTI, Bureau of Fire Protection, Local Government Units and the Department of Energy (DOE) represented by Nilo Gerochi of Davao City.
As its initial project, the Task Force monitored the LPG dealers in the capital town. They looked into the aspects of underselling, observance of guidelines in LPG dealership and many more.
In the absence of an office of DOE in Tandag, Nilo Gerochi said the LGU, should assume its vital role in looking into the welfare of the consumers of LPG products.
The formation of the LPG Task Force here highlights the Consumer Welfare Month Celebrations. The local ConsumerNet conducted an empowerment forum on October 12 where a representative from DOE, Davao was also present. (PIA-Surigao del Sur) [top]
