Esperanza gets support to techno demo farm

by Jose Jemuel B. Dael

Agusan del Sur (October 25) -- A couple in Esperanza expressed gratitude to the provincial government for giving them one unit of grass cutter which will be used to maintain the one hectare fruit tree techno demo farm.

Mr. & Mrs. Patronilo Perez, Convergence Development Program (CDP) techno demo cooperators, said that with the new equipment, their work will be a lot easier since they usually use bolos in cleaning the area.

Oscar Jurado, Information Officer of Provincial Agriculture Office said that the grass cutter is the promise of Gov. Adolph Edward Plaza during his visit to the area to see the progress of the techno demo farm planted with Rambutan, Durian and Mangosteen.

Jurado said the said techno demo served as a model farm and learning laboratory for the 28 CDP fruit-tree-production beneficiaries where they conduct their lecture on best practices on growing fruit trees.

Jurado explained that techno demo farms like that in Esperanza is made possible under CDP. He said that CDP is the approach of the provincial government under the administration of Governor Adolph Edward Plaza to better implement programs and projects that would create an impact to the community.

Jurado added that with CDP, all necessary assistance and intervention will be poured in to focused barangays to produce measurable results like that of the fruit tree techno demo farm. (PIA Agusan del Sur, with Engr. Oscar Jurado, Agriculture Office) [top]
