Bomb components found in Iloilo City mall
Quezon City (25 October) -- BOMB components were found in a mall in Iloilo City shortly before noon on Wednesday in what authorities said was an attempt to sow fear.
Western Visayas police director, Chief Superintendent Gearry Barias, said the bomb components, which were wrapped in a garbage bag, were discovered by a bomb sniffing dog at the second floor of the Robinson's Iloilo parking lot.
Barias said the bomb components -- 34 grams of pyrotechnic powder, a 6-inch jetboard, and an electric blasting cap – were unassembled and lacked a timing device.
"This (package) was merely meant to scare people," he said. (PIA) [top]
