BIR Isabela increases tax collection
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (26 October) -- Officials of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Isabela province said tax collections went up by 83 percent compared to last year's collection as of July this year.
Eduardo Pagulayan, revenue district officer said the top three areas in Isabela who contributed a lot to the tax revenue generation of the agency were Cauayan City, Santiago City and the capital town of Ilagan. These areas, he said were boosters to Isabela's revenue collection.
According to pagulayan, their office has collected P62 million by the end of July over last year's collection of P52 million. The collection this year represents 83 percent increase or P10 million.
He said the P10 million increase was attributed to the intensified implementation of the agency's regulations, massive tax campaigns, EVAT collection and improved tax collection strategies. (PIA-NVizcaya) [top]
