National invention contest set
Larena (26 October) -- The 2006 National Inventors Week will be held from November 13-17. This was announced by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Application Institute.
Featured in the celebration will be the National Invention Contest with the following categories: Outstanding Invention (Tuklas Award), Outstanding utility Model, Outstanding Industrial Design, Outstanding Creative Research (Likha Award) and the Outstanding Creative research (Sibol Award).
The contest is open to Filipino Inventors, makers, designers and creative researchers residing in the Philippines . Sibol Award is open to high school and college students. Entries have to be endorsed however, by their respective school heads. Entries that have won the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in previous national invention contests, except those under the Creative Research Category are excluded from the contest.
Entry forms and rules and criteria for invention contest are now available at the Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Science and Technology Center , Siquijor, Siquijor. Accomplished entries/requirements must be received not later that 5:00 pm October 16, 2006 at TAPI (DOST Compound, Bicutan, Taguig, Metro Manila). (PIA) [top]
