Mayor Estela in full support of Boy Scouts of Sto. Tomas

Davao City (27 October) -- The 22nd Council Jamborette/KAB-O RAMA 2006 held at Capunggan, Kapalong Davao del Norte last October 19-22, 2006 with a theme: “Isang Mundo…Isang Pangako” has been a successful event for the Sto. Tomas boy scouts and their scout masters, since the municipality garnered 21 awards with the Biggest Delegation and emerged as the 2nd runner-Up in the overall ratings.

Mayor Maximo M. Estela, MD was present during the opening ceremony. He was very proud of these little men who bravely faced the bad weather, heavy rains and muddy grounds without any qualms and in spite of their pitiful situation has made Sto. Tomas stand tall in the different categories wherein six (6) First Place, six (6) Second Place and seven (7) third Place awards were gathered.

"The success of these boy scouts and scout masters would not be possible without the full support of Mayor Estela and the Sangguniang Bayan Members. The very presence of the Mayor during the opening program boosted the pride and confidence of the boy scouts as they have emerged as winners in the competition and I am very hopeful with this year’s outcome that we will strive for more and aim for the 1sr place next year," expressed by Maam Aurelia Ortiz, District Coordinating Principal – East District.

On the other hand, Mayor Estela positively responded to the Ma’m Ortiz challenge to the brave boys and assured that additional funds shall be allocated in support to them as this would certainly help in molding young minds in becoming good leaders of this municipality. Quality education, good skills training and discipline that the Boy scouts of the Philippines is doing for these young men will help deter the young ones in becoming involve in drug addiction and should therefore be given full support.

The trophies which includes 3rd Placer in the Boy Scouts Section, 3rd Placer, in the Kabs section and the 2nd Runner-Up in the over all rating were offered to mayor in honor of the LGU’s full support to the boy scouts.( MIO_ Sto. Tomas, DDN/PIA XI) [top]
