PIT leads in medal standings on fourth day of SCUAA 2006

Naval, Biliran (27 October) -- While Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT) was scrimping hard to earn a lone silver medal during the first day of the athletic competitions of the 22nd State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) 2006 held at the Naval Institute of Technology (NIT) this town, the school famous for its maritime education program zoomed to overall leadership in the medal standing among the 11 competing state colleges and universities in Region 8.
As of 9:45 yesterday morning based on the official tally sheet of medal standing among the 11 participating schools, PIT leads with 16 golds, 10 silver and 10 bronze medals. The medal standing by school is shown below:

According to Leoncio Sambitan, NIT Sports Coordinator and SCUAA 2006 Over-All Sports Coordinator in an interview during the Kapihan sa PIA at Radyo Natin-Naval this morning, the final results of the medal standing for each participating delegation will be determined only after some remaining championship games will be finished tomorrow morning, October 27.
He further said that the awarding ceremonies will be held tomorrow right after all the championship games will be finished in the morning and the Paalam night, a farewell party for all the athletes of the 11 participating delegations, will be held in the evening at the NIT Oval Ground before their departure to their respective places the following day, October 28.
