Philippine Army to hire medical doctors

Butuan City (October 27) -- The Philippine Army (PA) urgently needs medical doctors to beef up the present strength of doctors in order to improve the delivery of health services and treatment to battlefield victims especially at the battalion level.

In a written statement, Capt. Ferdinand Rondina, officer-in-charge of the Mindanao's Army Recruitment Center, said the army is recruiting 77 medical doctors to be commissioned in the Reserve Force, AFP and subsequently be Called to Active Duty.

Capt. Rondina added that pending approval of their appointment, the qualified applicants will be appointed as P2LT and will undergo one-month military orientation training.

Rondina also pointed out that the initial appointment in the Medical Corps of the Medical Service shall be in the grade of Captain, but fully trained and highly qualified specialists shall be appointed in the grade of Major and Lieutenant Colonel.

Applicants must be graduates of Doctor of Medicine and holder of a valid and current PRC license. They must comply application form and personal data sheet. NBI Clearance and Birth Certificate from NSO must be also submitted with the diploma and transcript of records authenticated by the school registrar and a whole body picture. Board rating certificate is also required. As to the age requirement, applicants must not be more than 35 years old upon application and must pass the physical and medical exam.

Luzon-based applicants may apply in person at the Army Recruitment Center in Manila at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City with contact telephone number (02) 845-9555 and contact Major Julius Tomines, Chief, Procurement and Attrition Branch, Army Personnel Management Center, Philippine Army.

Applicants from the Visayas region may apply in person at the Army Recruitment Center for the Visayas at Camp Lapu-lapu, Cebu City or may call telephone numbers (032) 2315157 PLDT and mobile no. 0928-2138685.
