PCHRD consults with research producers and users in Region 8
Tacloban City (October 28) -- In order to have a better appreciation on research programs and capacity, the Philippine council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) is scheduled to conduct consultations with selected organizations in Region 8.
The consultations which will be conducted on November 7, 2006 from 9:00 o’clock to 12:00 noon at the Ritz Tower de Leyte, is part of the nationwide consultations with selected organizations involved as research producers, users and funders.
Dr. Jaime Montoya, the executive director, in his communications to PIA informed that the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development is currently pursuing a strategy of institutional development in regard to research and research management.
The meeting which will be held in Tacloban, Dr. Montoya said, will consist of a briefing on the Philippine National Health Research System. This is to give the participants a first hand knowledge on the health research system in the country.
He added that a discussion will also ensue on how the institution can work in synergy to ensure an active participation in the Philippine National Health Research System.
An organization under the mandate of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development and the Department of Health, the Philippine National Health Research System is responsible for the research and development of health related issues and technology among Philippine institutes, corporations and hospitals. It is also responsible for the assimilation of new healthcare products to the mainstream.
The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development is the primary government agency responsible for research and development in the related fields of health sciences including development of human and infrastructure resources for health research, facilitating new health technologies, developing and implementing health related planning programs.
