by Roberto M.Cabardo

Cebu City (October 29) -- Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn F. Garcia welcomed the arrival of the two battalions of the marines and the army with confidence that the augmentation forces will boost the security of delegates and venues of the ASEAN Summit in December.

In her speech read by Prov. Administrator Ed Habin, the governor said that she is “confident that nothing can go wrong.”

The two battalions that arrived yesterday morning were from the 46th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army from Catbalogan,Samar and the 7th Marine Battalion Landing Team from Patikul, Sulu.

The arrival was witnessed by top officials from the Central Command, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP, and the local government units.
