Joint civac held in neglected sitio
TABUK, Kalinga (30 October) -- Good Samaritans conducted an outreach program at a rural village with no adequate basic services, no electricity, no school and no existing water system here.
The activity was held last October 22 at sitio Basao, barangay Dilag of Tabuk by a small group of concerned citizens organized and spearheaded by Dr. Amelia B Miranda (EENT Specialist/NGO) and the Army's 21st Infantry Battali under LTC Francis Lardizabal. to 103 beneficiaries.
A free medical-dental service was administered by Dr. Henrietta Bagayao, Municipal Health Officer of Tabuk, ILT Jim Bares of the 501ST Brigade and Corporal Galapon of the 21IB. A free haircut for men and children was also conducted.
Used clothes provided by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office thru Imelda Pulig, the Project Development Officer of CAR-DSWD were also distributed to the villagers.
Dr. Miranda announced that a school will also be constructed in the same sitio, courtesy of the American Foundation for Emergency Care next year. (PIA-Kalinga) [top]
