DPWH announces temporary closure of national road portion in Eastern Samar
Tacloban City (October 31) -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Eastern Samar District Engineering Office in Borongan announced that effective November 6 to December 31, there will be a temporary closure to traffic of a portion of the National Road in Eastern Samar.
In a communication sent to PIA by OIC District Engineer Pacita C. Gavan, she said that the specific portion which will be closed to traffic is at Kilometer 939+890 which is located at Barangay Alangalang, Poblacion, Borongan, Eastern Samar .
Engr. Gavan revealed that the road fronting the Petron Station will be closed because of the engineering works particularly the replacement of damaged R.C. pipes, cross drains, with a Single-Barrel Box Culvert.
The traveling public is hereby notified about the road closure in order to avoid unnecessary inconveniences and waste of material time.
Engr. Gavan assured the public that proper informative road signs will be installed along intersections in this area to direct the commuters to the designated alternate routes.
This will be done in coordination with the local government units and the other government agencies concerned in order not to hamper or obstruct the traffic, Engr. Gavan added.
The public is requested to take note of the informative road signs which will be installed in order to avoid any delay in their travel and so as not to delay the engineering work being done in the said portion of the National Road in Eastern Samar. (PIA 8) [top]
