Muay thai highlights HTC criminology day
General Santos City (31 October) -- Muaythai kickboxing took center stage on the October 12, 2006 Criminology Day Celebration of the Holy Trinity College here. The activity was spearheaded by the Criminal Justice Education Criminology Department headed by the Dean Ruby Tamayo in partnership with the student criminology organization and the Suntaoje Muaythai Department of the Jitchrist Martial Arts, Jesus Is The Christ Interdenominational Ministries.
The one hour Muay educational exposition exhibition was led by Arriane Bayabos of the Golden State College, two times kickboxing champion of the Mindanao; Alfred Tamayo of the Holy Trinity College Criminology Department; Rolly Virtudazo of Polomolok, South Cotabato and Rocky Royeca, a nurse graduate and a member of the well known Royeca Clan of Gensan.
Muaythai public exposure is inline with the national government grass root sports development program particularly headed by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Malacaņang in partnership with the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Muay Association of the Philippines.
Muaythai kickboxing is a regular sports event in the National Open conducted yearly by the Philippines Sports Commission, in the South East Asian Games and in the Asian Games.
