Roxas children get new advocates
Roxas City (31 October) -- Two offices of the Roxas City Government which play an important role in looking after the needs of children, who happened to be the focus of the just-concluded Children's Month Celebration, have new heads in the person of Cynthia Deseo-Besana for the City Social Welfare and Development Office and Dra. Amelita Robles for the City Health Office. Both were able assistant office heads before they were appointed to their new posts by City Mayor Antonio Del Rosario.
Besana was adjudged as Best Social Worker of Region VI (Western Visayas) in 1983. Robles has been active in the pursuit of the city government's health service delivery and the Matahum Ang Matinlo program.
The city's health program jives with the thrust of the national government to sustain the implementation of social services on the back of the improving financial strength of the country courtesy of higher revenues and healthy fiscal condition. (PIA-JSC) [top]
