Capiz SMEs form alliance
Roxas City (31 October) -- Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Capiz have banded together into an alliance called Alliance to Uplift SMEs of Capiz (AUSCap) as part of the efforts of the government spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to develop and promote SMEs as an important sector of the country's economy. The alliance building capped the local celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program (PACAP) in the country.
Alongside the challenge of DTI Regional Director Dominic Abad to the Filipino youth to pursue entrepreneurship as another option in addition to office employment, PACAP Program Manager Ma. Lourdes Padilla commended the quality and craftsmanship of Capiceņo products, a result of dedication of local entrepreneurs and the convergence of project partners.
DTI Provincial Director Rebecca Rascon said among the SMEs and projects assisted by PACAP in the province is the SME Center that would assist local entrepreneurs.
The provincial government has also provided support to SMEs here as part of Gov. Vicente Bermejo's Ten-Point Agenda. (PIA-JSC) [top]
