Tagalog News: Pamahalaan naglaan ng P1.12B para sa scholarship ng 76,000 studyante

Koronadal, South Cotabato (2 November) -- Inihayag ni House Deputy Majority Leader Eduardo Gullas na naglaan na ang pamahalaan ng mahigit sa 1 bilyong piso upang mabigyan ng scholarship ang mahigit sa 70,000 mag-aaral para sa susunod na taon.

Ayon pa sa DOST, ang scholarships ay naglalayong maiangat ang scientific at technological manpower ng bansa, partikular na sa mga mag-aaral mula sa mga mahihirap na pamilya.

Ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED) ay may P441 million na pondo para sa scholarship program na susuporta sa mahigit 34 na libong mag-aaral sa kolehiyo, DOST na may P341 million upang supurtahan ang mahigit sa 10 libong scholars, P69.7 million para sa 3,264 na mag-aaral ng Philippine Science High School na nasa ilalim pa rin ng DOST, P200 million naman sa TESDA para sa 13,800 ng studyante na nakapag-enroll sa mga private vocational schools, at P72.6 million para sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) para sa tuition at allowances ng 13,989 na situdyante mula sa mga cultural communities.
