Tagalog News: Ekonomiya ng bansa pabor sa pag-angat ng kahirapan sa bansa

Koronadal, South Cotabato (8 November) -- Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary Ricardo Saludo ang magandang pag-usad ng ekonomiya ay nagkaroon ng magandang impact hindi lamang sa piso at sa stock market, kundi lalong lalo na sa mga mahihirap na Pilipino sa bansa.

Ipinakita sa isang survey ng Social Weather Stations (SWS) ang pagbaba ng self-rated poverty (SRP) sa 51% noong Setyembre ngayong taon, mula sa 59% noong Hunyo habang ang SRP ng Mindanao ay bumaba ng 53% mula 61% noong mga nakaraang buwan.

Kaugnay nito, ipinakita rin ang average SRP ng Pangulong Arroyo na 57.3% mas mababa sa mga nakaraang administrasyon; kay dating Pangulong Aquino 63.4%, Ramos 62.2%, at kay dating Pangulong Estrada 59.6%.

Naging malaking ambag naman sa pagsulong ng ekonomiya ang economic performance ni Pangulong Arroyo kabilang ang highest annual economic growth 4.4%, employment increase na umabot sa 897,000 jobs, at ang pinakamababang taunang inflation na 5.5%.

Lalo namang nagsusumigasig ang pamahalaan upang makapagbigay ng food and livelihood assistance, at rural productivity programs upang tuluyan nang mai-angat ang kahirapan dito sa bansa. (ajph/PIA 12) [top]
