Tagalog News: Pagsasaayos ng South Railway aabutin ng $1-B

Koronadal, South Cotabato (10 November) -- Inihayag ng delegation of Chinese officials sa pangunguna ni Chinese Representative ng government-owned National Technical Import and Export Corporation (NTIEC), aabutin ng $1 B ang pagsasaayos ng Philippine National Railway South Line mula Laguna hanggang Legazpi City.

Kabilang ang line extension hanggang Matnog, Sorsogon kung saan matatagpuan ang ferry terminal ng Visayas at Mindanao. Ito ay pangungunahan ng technical at engineering expertise ng NTIEC.

Kasabay ng inspeksiyung ginawa ng mga Chinese officials, fina low-up din nila ang Memorandum of Understanding na nilagdaan noong nakaraang buwan. Isinasaad nito ang buong kooperasyon ng dalawang bansa sa pagsasaayos at pagpapaganda ng 542-kilometer na railway.

Layunin ng proyektong ito ang pagpapabilis ng mga economic at business activities lalo na ang pagpapatakbo ng minimum speed na 120 kilometro bawat oras ng mga biyahero.

Inaasahan naman ang pagsasaayos ng nasabing proyekto sa ika Pebrero sa susunod na taon. (ajph/PIA 12) [top]
