Tagalog News: WB tinaas ang growth forecast ng Pilipinas

Koronadal, South Cotabato (15 November) -- Itinaas na ng World Bank (WB) ang economic growth forecast ng Pilipinas sa 5.5 percent mula sa target nitong 5.3 percent noong March. Ito'y diumano dahil sa paglago ng Agricultural at exports sector at ang pagdami ng dollar remittances mula sa mga overseas worker.

Itinaas din ng WB ang Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth forecast ng ating bansa sa 5.7 percent mula sa 5.6 percent para sa taong 2007.

Ayon pa sa WB, na ang mababang budget deficit cut bunga ng pagtaas ng tax revenue mula sa reformed value added tax ay siyang diumano ang maglalagay sa pamahalaan sa magandang posisyon upang itaas ang social sector spending nito.

Inihayag din kamakailan ng pamahalaan, na ang P50.4 bilyon budget deficit sa unang siyam na buwan ng taon ay mas mababa sa P122 bilyon program nito para sa naturang period.

Kaya't ayon sa WB, kung patuloy na gaganda ang kondisyon ng Pilipinas, dadami din diumano ang mga foreign at private sources ang pamumuhunan sa ating bansa. (CGI/PIA 12) [top]
