Tagalog News: Computer backlog sa public high schools bumaba

Koronadal, South Cotabato (22 November) -- Base sa 2001 DepEd Masterlist of Public High Schools sa buong bansa, bumaba sa 29% mula 69% ang computer backlog sa public high schools. Ito'y dahil sa implementasyon ng Personal Computers for Public Schools (PCPS) Project.

Sa pamamagitan din ng nasabing programa, 14,000 CD instructional materials na galing sa DOST-Science Education Institute for Math, Biology, Chemistry and Physics ang naipamahagi. Ang mga PCPS schools ay naging IT Centers sa kani-kanilang komunidad at nagsilbing lugar para sa IT training para sa mga out-of school youths, LGUs at mga lokal na residente.

Dito sa rehiyon 12, umabot na sa 1,842 personal computers ang naipamahagi sa 139 secondary schools simula ng ito'y ipatupad noong 2002.

Ang Personal Computers for Public Schools (PCPS) project ay bilang tugon ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) sa mga hamon dulot ng Information and Communication Technology. (PIA 12) [top]
