Tagalog News: 1-M OFWs target sa 2006 kinapos ng 8,000 - DOLE

Koronadal, South Cotabato (22 November) -- Inihayag ni Labor Secretary Brion na sa kabila ng nangyaring deployment ban sa Iraq at Lebanon kabilang na ang pagbagal ng pag proseso ng mga OFW documents sa Taiwan, kulang pa ng 8,539 ang 1 milyong OFW targetng pamahalaan para sa taong 2006.

Gayunman, tumaas ng 11% ang OFW deployment mula 893, 073 noong Nobyembre ng nakaraang taon laban sa 991,467 nga OFWs sa kaparehong buwan ngayon. Dagdag pa ni Brion, maaabot ang target na isang milyon kung may average OFW deployment na 2,500-3,000 bawat araw.

Umaasa naman ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas at si Brion na tataas din ng 10% ang OFW dollar remittances. Mula $7,965 billion Enero hanggang Setyembre noong nakaraang taon, na ngayon ay umabot sa $9.112 billion sa kaparehong buwan ng taon. (ajph/PIA12) [top]
