Tagalog News: Tanggap ni Esperon ang panukalang batas sa pagtakda ng termino ng AFP chief

Koronadal, South Cotabato (24 November) -- Malugod na tinanggap ni Military Chief General Hermogenes Esperon, Jr. ang pagpasa ng panukalang batas na magtatakda ng termino ng puno ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa tatlong taon.

Dahil dito, inaasahan na matugunan nito ang time plan, ang pag rebisa, at ang pagpapatuloy ng magandang plano ng buong sandatahan.

Kamakailan lang ay inaprubahan ng bicameral conference committee ang panukalang batas na magbibigay ng 3 taong termino sa military chief at dalawang taon naman sa tatlong major services: ang Army, navy, at Air Force. Ngunit, hinihintay pa ang pagsang-ayon ng dalawang kapulungan at ang paglagda ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo bago ito tuluyang maging batas. (ajph/PIA 12) [top]
