Tagalog News: Bicameral body inaprubahan ang biofuels bill

Koronadal, South Cotabato (24 November) -- Inaprubahan kahapon ng bicameral conference committee on energy ang bill na nagsasaad na gawing mandatory ang paggamit ng biofuel.

Ayon kay Senate Minority Leader Aquino Pimentel, na ang pag-aprub ng naturang bill ay makakatulong ng malaki sa ating bansa dahil maliban sa hindi na tayo aasa sa fossil fuel ng Middle East, hindi pa ito magdudulot ng polusyon sa hangin.

Napapaloob din sa bill na ito ang paglalagay ng kahit limang porsyentong bioethanol sa kabuuang volume ng gasoline fuel at minimum na isang porsyento biodiesel sa bawat volume ang ihahalo sa lahat ng diesel engine fuels na ibibibenta at ipamamahagi dito sa ating bansa.

Bagama't ang naturang aprub bill ay dadaan pa sa pagsusuri ng buong chambers of Congress bago ipadala kay pangulong Arroyo upang lagdaan. (CGI/PIA 12) [top]
