Tagalog News: Malakanyang pinasalamatan ang approval ng biofuels act

Koronadal, South Cotabato (27 November) -- Pinasalamatan ng Malakanyang ang maagang approval ng congressional bicameral conference committee sa 2006 Biofuels Act, isang mandato sa promosyon ng alternatibo at renewable na energy resources.

Kung tuluyan nang maisabatas ang Biofuels Act, makakatulong umano ito upang makatipid ang bansa sa import cost ng fossil fuels.

Ayon kay Senator Meriam Defensor-Santiago, sa pamamagitan ng Act na ito, ang pamahalaan ay makakatipid ng abot sa P3 billion sa import oil costs sa bawat taon at maliban sa malaking matitipid ng bansa, ang makakatulong din diumano ito upang mabawasan ang polusyon na dulot fossil fuels' emission.
