Tagalog News: Pangulong Arroyo naalarma sa kasong firearm loss

Koronadal, South Cotabato (30 November) -- Naalarma si Pangulong Gloria Arroyo sa mga kasong loss of firearms sa bansa. Kaugnay nito, siya ay nagpalabas ng Executive Order 580 na magbibigay ng mahigpit na mga alituntunin at karampatang kaparusahan sa kasong firearms loss.

Ayon kay Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, ang EO 580 ay inamyendahan nito ang EO 256 at ang EO 197 na siyang lalong magpatibay at tumulong sa pagtugon sa problemang firearm loss.

Isinasaad sa EO 256 ang pagpapababa ng bayarin at multa sa mga armas, mga sandata, ammunition, spare parts, accessories, components, explosive ingredients, pyrotechnics, at iba pang mga aparato.

Samantala, sa EO 197 iniutos naman sa lahat ng mga departamento at iba pang concerned na mga ahensiya ng pamahalaan, kabilang ang mga government-owned at controlled corporations na magtaas ng fees at charges na hindi bababa sa 20% kabilang na ang administrative fines sa mga nawalang firearms.
