Tagalog News: Barira mayoralty candidates nagkasundo

Koronadal, South Cotabato (22 May) -- Naitakda ng COMELEC sa May 26, 2007 ang special elections sa mga lugar kung saan naunang idineklarang nagkaroon ng “failure of elections” noong May 14 midterm elections.

Kabilang dito ang bayan ng Barira sa probinsya ng Shariff Kabunsuan kung saan kandidato sa pagka-alkalde sina incumbent re-electionist mayor Alex Tomawis at Pandian Macarimbang.

Bilang paghahanda, nagkasundo sina Tomawis at Macarimbang upang hilingin ang pagtatalaga ng mga guro mula sa ibang lugar upang magsilbing Board of Election Inspectors (BEI) sa May 26 special elections sa Barira.

Inakusahan ng dalawa ang mga guro ng Barira na naitalagang BEI bilang “partisan” dahil karamihan ay kamag-anak ng mga kandidato para sa iba’t-ibang puwesto o position. (pbc/PIA 12) [top]
