Tagalog News: Petition ng salary hike sa Central Mindanao dinismiss ng Wage Board

Koronadal City (21 June) -- Ibinasura na ng Regional Tripartite Wages & Productivity Board (RTWPB) 12 ang P76.00 across-the-board daily wage increase na hiniling ng mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor sa Central Mindanao.

Inihayag ni RTWPB chair Joel Gonzales na ang pagbasura sa nasabing petisyon ay alinsunod sa provision na nagsasaad na walang petisyon ang ipapasa ng wage board sa loob ng labindawang buwan maliban kung mayroong supervening conditions gaya ng biglaang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin, services at transportation.

Ayon pa kay Gonzales, kasalukuyan namang matatag at stable ang socio-economic conditions at ang presyo ng mga basic consumer goods sa buong rehiyon, kung kayat walang basehan umano ang hiling ng pagtaas sa sahod ng mga manggagawa sa pribadong sektor.

Ang pinakahuling wage order sa rehiyon dose ay inaprubahan noon pang July 19, 2006 at nagkabisa noong August 6 ng nasabi ring taon.

Ang ibinasurang petition ay isinumite ng Global Tampakan Employees Union at sinuportahan ng lokal na Trade Union Congress of the Philippines.

Inihayag naman ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Southern Mindanao na hindi favorable sa mga employers ang isa pang round ng wage increase. (ac agad/PIA 12) [top]
