Cebuano News: La Mesa Dam gideklara isip watershed reservation

Manila (25 July) -- Gideklara ni Presidente Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo ang La Mesa Dam niadtong miaging semana isip usa ka watershed reservation.

Kahibaloan, ang La Mesa Dam sa Novaliches, lungsod sa Quezon usa ka tinubdan sa suplay sa tubig alang sa kapin 12 milyones ka mga residente sa kaulohang Maynila.

Kini usab nagaserbisyo isip usa ka holding facility kon reservoir alang sa tubig nga naggikan sa tulo ka mga watersheds upstream - Umiray, Angat ug Ipo sa Bulacan.

Sa usa ka well-attended pledging ug planting ceremony sa 500-square meter grassland open area sa La Mesa watershed, gipasalamatan ni Pangulong Arroyo ang katawhan alang sa ilang "bug-os nga presensya" diin iyang gibutyag nga "mopakusog sa paglaom sa katawhang Pilipinhon aron protektahan ang kinaiyahan."
