Tagalog News: DA hinihikayat ang mga magsasaka na gumamit ng organic fertilizers

Manila (7 August) -- Hinihikayat ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ang mga magsasaka sa bansa na gumamit ng abot kayang bio-fertilizer brands sa halip na gumamit ng mga imported chemical fertilizers upang maitaas sa 20% ang crop yields ng Pilipinas na kabilang sa long-term strategy ng Pamahalaan.

Ayon kay Department of Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap inirerekomenda ng University of the Philippines Los Baņos, Laguna (UPLB) at Philippine Rice Research Institute (Philrice), ang paggamit ng Bio-N at Biocon bilang pataba para sa pananim ng mga magsasaka. Ito ay abot kaya, growth boosting at hindi nakakasira sa kalikasan kung ikukumpara sa ibang mga imported chemical fertilizers.

Itinataguyod ng DA ang paggamit ng bio-N at Biocon upang mapababa sa 30%-50% ang paggamit ng chemical fertilizers at mapataas naman sa 10%-20% ang ani ng mga magsasaka sa bansa. (Abb/PIA 12) [top]
