Tagalog News: Pamahalaan determinadong wakasan ang smuggling operations

Manila (21 August) -- Binigyang diin muli ni Pangulong Gloria Arroyo na ang pagsira sa labingwalong (18) puslit at mamahaling mga sasakyan kamakailan ay nagpapatunay na ang pamahalaan ay masigasig at determinadong wakasan ang ilegal na pamumuslit sa bansa.

Sa kabila ng pagsira sa nasabing mga sasakyan, ani Pangulong Arroyo, patuloy pa rin ang mga kasong isinampa ng pamahalaan laban sa mga smugglers.

Ayon kay kay Finance Secretary Margarito Teves dahil sa mga illegal smuggling operations, umaabot sa P64-P65 B ang nababawas na pondo ng pamahalaan kung kaya, pina-iigting at pinalalawak ng pamahalaan ang kampanya nito lalo na ang pagsira at pagwasak sa mga produkto at mga makinaryang ipinuslit ng mga smugglers sa bansa

Kasabay ng pakikiisa ng mga concerned sectors sa kampanya laban smuggling operations, tiwala rin ang mga fiscal authorities na aangat ang revenue collection ng bansa para sa taong ito at mababawi na ng pamahalaan ang revenue shortfall noong unang anim na buwan ng taon. (ajph/PIA 12) [top]
