Army re-organizes press corps
Camp Melchor F. dela Cruz, Gamu, Isabela (October 2) -- The Army's 5th Infantry Division has re-organized its defense press corps last night in a bid to make the camp transparent in all its undertakings and after the former commanding general of 5ID Rodrigo F. Maclang leaves the camp last month taking the post as Army's North Luzon (NOLCOM) Commander.
Maj. Gen. Melchor Dilodilo, replaced Maclang, said that he recognize the great role of media in informing the public especially the activities being undertaken inside the camp.
The 5ID army chief said that he is confident to the newly elected officers that they will perform the role that was given to them and expect a transparent and responsible reporting of activities happening in the camp.
The newly elected officers of the 5ID Defense Press Corps are veteran media practitioners in Isabela (broadcast and print) and serve as correspondents of national radios and dailies.
The officers are: President - Mr. Joe Dasig of DZRH Cagayan Valley, V-President - Mr. Jun Berganio, a publisher/editor of Brigada, also a correspondent of Balita, Secretary- Mr. Rod Evans Calixto, a correspondent of Manila Bulletin, Treasurer- Mr. Romy Santos, a veteran Bombo Radyo DZNC Field Reporter and Auditor - Mr. Jun Fuentes, a correspondent of Remate.
