Tagalog News: Mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng Comelec gun ban

Koronadal City (2 October) -- Kaugnay ng nalalapit na barangay at SK elections sa darating na October 29,2007, mahigpit na pagsunod sa COMELEC gun ban ang ipinatutupad ng local election officials sa lungsod ng Cotabato.

Sinabi ni City election officer Arlan Mangelen na lahat ng nagmamay-ari ng baril kahit na covered ng mission order at may kaukulang license to carry fiorearms ay kinakailangang kumuha sa tanggapan ng local Comelec office ng exemption para madala ang armas sa labas ng pamamahay, upang maiwasan ang confiscation at pag-aresto kaugnay ng paglabag sa umiiral na gun ban.

Katuwang ng COMELEC sa pagpapatupad ng gun ban ang PNP at AFP bilang mga deputized bodies ng Commission on Elections.

Nagpahayag ng pagtutol si Mangelen sa mungkahing pagpaliban ng Barangay at SK Elections at naniniwalang ito ay magiging mas matahimik at maayos kung ikukumpara noong May midterm elections. (pbc/PIA 12) [top]
