Cebuano News: National Statistics Month ngayong Oktubre

Manila (5 October) -- Bilang pagbibigay halaga sa papel ng "statistics" sa development efforts ng pamahalaang nasyunal at lokal, hinihikayat ni Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ronaldo Puno ang mga local chief executives na magsagawa ng mga activities na may kaugnayan sa pag-obserba ng Statistics Month ngayong Oktubre.

Ayon kay Puno, nakatuon ang tema sa "Statistics and Actions: A Road to a Better Life Thro

ugh the Millennium Development Goals" kung saan pangungunahan ng National Statistics Coordination Board ang nasabing selebrasyon.

Ang Millennium Development Goals o MDG ay polisiyang nakasentro sa pagbibigay wakas sa ka

hirapan, pag-abot ng universal primary education, promotion ng gender equality, pagpapababa ng child mortality, pagpapabuti ng reproductive health ng mga kababaihan, at ang pakikibaka laban sa HIV/AIDS, malaria, at iba pang mga masakit.

Layunin din ng taunang National Statistics Month na mapalaganap, mapabuti at makapagbigay

ng kaalaman sa kahalagahan ng "statistics" sa paglikha ng mga alituntunin para sa kaunlaran ng bansa. (ajph/PIA 12) [top]
