Tagalog News: Pilipinas nakahanda na sa implementasyon ng JPEPA

Manila (10 October) -- Ayon sa Kagawaran ng Agrikultura, ang Pilipinas ay nakahanda ng magpalabas ng $419 milyong halaga ng agricultural at fishery export patungong Japan sa pamamagitan ng mas maunlad na market-access concessions bilang bahagi ng Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) kung sakaling maimplementa na ito.

Ang Philippine exports na kasalukuyang nasa listahan ng Japan's General System of Preferences (GSP) ay kinabibilangan ng hipon at sugpo, lobster, fresh asparagus, okra, bayabas, mangga at papaya. Kasali rin ang mga produkto ng niyog tulad ng coconut oil, desiccated coconut, fresh young coconut at mixtures ng mga fruit at vegetable juices.

Ang JPEPA ay nilagdaan ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at Japan Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi noon pang ika-9 ng Setyembre ng nakaraang taon at kinakailangan pa ng pag-aaral at pahintulot ng Senado. Ito na lamang hinihintay ng pamahalaan upang maimplementa ang pakikipagtulungan ng Pilipinas at Japan sa pagpapaunlad ng ekonomiya ng bansa. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
