Tagalog News: RDX ginamit sa pagpasabog ng Glorietta - PNP

Manila (23 October) -- Sa isang command conference hinggil sa Glorietta bombing kamakailan, iniulat ng Philippine National Police (PNP) kay Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo na mayroong mga bakas ng royal demolition explosive (RDX) na nakita sa bombing venue.

Ang RDX ay isang nitrite-based high explosive material na ginagamit sa mga military at industrial operations. Ginagamit din ang RDX bilang component ng iba pang pampasabog tulad ng mga commercial explosives na ginagamit sa pagmimina.

Ipinaliwanag naman ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Hermogenes Espeorn, Jr. ang RDX, na pangunahing component din ng C-4 ay hindi nanggaling sa mga kagamitan ng militar.

Aniya, military-grade explosive ang mas angkop na term kesa commercial explosive na ginagamit sa pagmimina.

Isa rin sa mga gumagamit ng RDX o nitrate-based high explosives ang Jemaah Islamiya at iba pang teroristang grupo.

Kasalukuyan, masusing imbestigasyon ang ginagawa ng mga concerned agencies upang mahuli at mabigyan ng karampatang kaparusahan sa lalong madaling panahon ang mga pasimuno ng nasabing insidente. (ajph/PIA 12) [top]
