Tagalog News: Funding assistance mula sa US walang kundisyon, ani Romulo

Manila (6 November) -- Iniulat ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto Romulo kay Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo na ang binigay ng United States na karagdagang funding assistance sa bansa ay wala umanong kapalit o kalakip na kundisyon.

Matatandaan na noong Setyembre, ang US Senate ay nagbigay ng karagdagang pagtaas sa Foreign Military Funding (FMF) sa Pilipinas na may kabuuang $30 milyon at nagbigay din ng $30 milyon sa Economic Support Fund (ESF) ng bansa. Maliban dito, nangako silang magbibigay ng karagdang funding assistance kung magkakaroon ng peace agreement sa pagitan ng pamahalaan at Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Dahil dito, personal na nagpasalamat si Secretary Romulo sa mga miyembro ng US Congress lalong-lalo na kina Sen. Daniel Inouye, Sen. Daniel Akaka at Rep. Bob Filner na nagbigay ng malaking suporta sa Pilipinas partikular na sa pagbibigay ng funding assistance ng walang kundisyon. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
