Tagalog News: Pantay na karapatan para sa kababaihan isinulong

Manila (13 November) -- Ikinagalak ng pamahalaan ang naging resulta ng pinakabagong World Economic Forum (WEF) gender gap index kung saan nakamit ng Pilipinas ang ika-anim na hanay sa pagbibigay ng pantay na karapatan sa mga kababaihan o "gender equality."

Ipinapakita sa nasabing index na nabibigyan ng pantay na karapatan ang mga kababaihan sa larangan ng edukasyon, healthy life expectancy, at pagpapabuti ng mga oportunidad para sa mga highly-skilled women professionals.

Ayon kay Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Arturo Brion mas maraming mga babae na ang nakakapagturo sa mga paaralan kumpara sa mga kalalakihan.

Dinadagsa rin ng mga kababaihan ang mga enterprise leadership positions tulad ng supervising at ang pagiging executives.

Dagdag ni Brion, ang pagtaas ng women employment sa supervising at managerial positions sa bansa ay bunsod ng kanilang educational attainment at sa pagsisikap ng pamahalaang makamit ang gender equality na isa sa mga goals ng pamahalaan upang maabot ang 1st world status. (ajph/PIA 12) [top]
