Tagalog News: ASEAN Charter nilagdaan

Manila (21 November) -- Nilagdaan na ng sampung miyembro ng Association of Southeast Asian Nation ang ASEAN Charter na naglalayong itulak ang sama-samang pagsulong ng demokrasya, single market at pagprotekta sa karapatang pantao ang mga bansang kasapi nito.

Ang paglalagda ng Charter ay nangangahulugan lamang ng legal na pagkakaisa ng mga bansang kasapi ng ASEAN sa pagtataguyod ng ekonomiya, mabisang pamumuhunan sa kalakalan, pagpapa-unlad ng demokrasya, pagpapatibay ng mga batas at iba pang makakapagpabuti sa mga bansa ng South East Asia.

Kasama ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sa lumagda ng ASEAN Charter ay ang mga pinuno ng bansang Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand at Vietnam. (Lgtomas/PIA 12) [top]
