Tagalog News: Pagpapatayo ng Doppler radars ipinag-utos ng Pangulo

Manila (23 November) -- Upang mapa-unlad ang pagbibigay ng tiyak na ulat panahon ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), ipinag-utos ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo sa Department of Science and Technology (DOST) ang pagpapabilis ng pagpapatayo ng dalawang Doppler radars na magbibigay ng impormasyon sa mamayan tungkol sa inaasahang bagyo o anu mang kalamidad sa bansa.

Isa sa mga Doppler radars ay ipapatayo sa lalawigan ng South Cotabato habang ang isa naman ay ipapatayo sa Cebu City.

Inihayag din ng Pangulo na maglalaan ang pamahalaan ng P6 million pondo bilang bahagi ng suporta nito sa mga naapektuhan ng nagdaang bagyo lalo na ang local government unit (LGU) ng Iligan City.

Pinasalamatan din ng Pangulo ang National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), Armed Forces of the Philippines-Office of Civil Defense, at sa lahat ng mga volunteers ng disaster response team na tumulong sa isinagawang rescue at relief operations sa Iligan City. (Abb/PIA 12) [top]
