PNP transfers 106th PMG to Dasol town
Pangasinan (2 February) -- THE 106th Police Mobile Group (PMG) at present based in Alaminos City will soon be moved to Dasol town in western Pangasinan.
Chief Supt. Luizo Ticman said the mayor of Dasol has donated a 900 square meter-lot where the new headquarters of the 106th PMG will be located.
He said the transfer of the police group to Dasol was approved by PNP Chief Jesus Verzosa who hails from Dasol town.
Ticman said he requested P12 million from the PNP national headquarters for the putting up of the mobile group headquarters in Dasol.
The transfer of the PMG to Dasol is aimed at strengthening PNP troop capability in the border areas between Pangasinan and Zambales in order to check possible incursions of guerillas of the New People's Army operating in the borders of the two provinces.
At the same time, Ticman assured the construction of new police stations in other parts of Pangasinan as part of the PNP Integrated Transformation Program.
Among these is a three-storey police station in Dagupan that was allocated P15 million, at least P3 million of which was already released from the congressional development assistance (CDA) fund of Congressman Jose de Venecia, Jr. (PIA Pangasinan) [top]
