LTO-ARMM tightens screw on colorum vehicles, 'kotong' cops

ICC Cotabato City (2 February) -- "Ako mismo ang personal na huhuli sa mga taong nangongotong sa mga kalsada o highways na nasasakupan ng Land Transportation Office (LTO), Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
This was emphatically told to the Philippine Information Agency Wednesday morning by LTO-ARMM Regional Director Suaib B. Tuttuh who is also the Regional Head, President Anti-Colorum and Kotong Task Force (PACKTAF)-ARMM.
He pointed out that colorum vehicles will not be spared in their massive campaign against these two major violations (colorum vehicles and 'kotong' cops).
During the interview Tuttuh revealed that "as of the moment LTO-ARMM cannot register 4-wheel vehicles. Registration of 2 and 3-wheel motor cycles are now being accepted in their office."
"But we are hoping that the ban on accepting registration for 4-wheel vehicles will be lifted this year. Right now a technical working group (TWG) organized by no less than the Office of the Regional Governor (ORG), ARMM and an oversight committee in Malacaņang are working hard together to resolve the issue," Tuttuh said.
Tuttuh said that all other thrusts of LTO-ARMM are now normally implemented, except, he repeated, the registration of 4-wheel vehicles. He also said that all other attached agencies of DOTC devolved to DOTC-ARMM are now-functioning well. (PIA Cot City) [top]
