Maasin City (February 3) -- A free dental mission has been slated to be held at an uptown barangay San Jose here on Friday, February 6, according to Aida Morsen, a staff at the Congressional District Office of Cong. Roger Mercado.
The activity will be jointly undertaken by the lawmaker himself with the all-out support of the Limasawa Development and Economic Foundation (LIDEF), a non-government organization (NGO) based in the city, said Morsen.
Some 700 patients are expected to be served during the whole day's conduct of the dental mission, which includes related dental services.
Aside from residents of barangay San Jose, people living in the twenty-two (22) barangays nearby can also avail of the free dental services, Morsen also said.
She added that several local dentists coming from anywhere around Southern Leyte province have been mobilized to join the day-long, tooth-extracting event.
This was the second free dental mission initiated by Cong. Mercado, the first was in Manhilo last year following the creation of the new local health unit station in that barangay, it was learned. (PIA-Southern Leyte) [top]
