Four Samar MPSs receive new patrol cars

By Ninfa B Quirante

Catbalogan City (February 3) -- What do Motiong, San Jorge, Pagsanghan and Gandara have in common?

All the four municipalities received brand new patrol cars for their Municipal Police Stations (MPSs) on January 26, 2009 in simple turn-over ceremonies at the Samar Provincial Police Office (SPPO).

Mayors Nancy Grey of San Jorge and Pagsanghan Mayor Violeto Ceracas were personally present to receive the vehicles.

Mayor Nancy Grey thanked the Philippine National Police (PNP) for the grant and vowed to take good care of the vehicles and in turn support the peace and order programs of the PNP.

Meanwhile, Mayor Ceracas in a phone interview said he is glad over the new acquisition and said he will obey the PNP's request re excellent maintenance of the patrol car which will really be a big help in the maintenance of peace and order in his municipality.

He said he also takes pride in the assignment of a capable police force mandated to protect his constituents.

In a talk with a PNP official, he said that some 16 patrol cars have been now distributed to Samar MPs including the newly turned-over vehicles in 2008 alone.

Samar PNP Provincial Director Police Senior Supt. Pancho Adelberto M Hubilla was joined by the representative of Regional Director Abner Cabalquinto identified as PSSupt. Rey Laņada of PRO 08.

PNP Samar said the four units given to the towns came from the regular supply of the central PNP office. (PIA-Samar) [top]
