PGMA wants more aggressive communication of gov't affairs

Roxas City (3 February) -- President Gloria Macapagal–Arroyo has directed newly installed Press Secretary Cerge Remonder "to be more aggressive in communicating her governance and to be more responsive to issues raised by the people."
The directive was conveyed by the President in a call from Switzerland to Remonde who formally assumed his new post in a simple turnover ceremony held at the New Executive Building in Malacanang.
Remonde has asked for support in carrying out his new tasks of communicating effectively the government's programs to the media and the people during the ceremony.
"I will ask all of you to let us work very hard. To act as the bridge between the President and the media and to our people," Remonde said following receipt of his first marching orders from President Arroyo.
Acknowledging his new task as a "very heavy responsibility", Remonde expressed belief that no matter how difficult the task, it will become easier and lighter if there are people who will help him to carry the loads. (PIA) [top]
