New peace czar gets support from 2 Muslim groups

Roxas City (3 February) -- Newly installed Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Avelino Razon got the support of two huge Muslim organizations following his assumption into office as head of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).
The organizations with over half a million members nationwide are the Muslim Association of the Philippines/Philippine Islamic Cultural Foundation, Inc. (MAPP/PICFI) and the National Federation of Police Accredited Muslim NGOs.
Two manifestos of support signed by Datu Nasser A. Magongcar, MAPP/PICI president; Sultan H. Sohally Tanandato, national president, NFPAM; Yassin D. Sumpingan, Nasseef B. Magongcar, Dr. Saga Dimaporo Mabaning, Sheik Sirad D. Manggis, Sultan Hadji Jamal S. Mama, and Col. Abdulwahid M. Lucman (ret.), representing various Muslim umbrella groups were given to the new peace czar.
"That the Filipino Muslims of the Republic of the Philippines and the rest of the Filipinos, cognizant of the high and rare qualifications of then PNP Chief General Avelino I. Razon Jr. not only in the field of law enforcement but in the realm of diplomacy, mastering crisis management of various critical and sensitive situations is the man of the hour in the said position more than his peers," the manifesto said.
The manifesto also thanked President Gloria Macapagal – Arroyo "for the rightful choice of appointing Sec. Razon Jr. for the said position.
Razon assumed his new post from Secretary Hermogenes C. Esperon Jr. who was named as chief of the Presidential Management Staff (PMS).
"That we pledge and commit to support his (Razon's) greatest challenging task as head of OPAPP in the best way we can together with the Filipino nation and further manifesting our love, loyalty and brotherhood with him since the beginning and the rest of our life," the manifestos concluded.
