by Sean Pamela R. Balais
Cagayan de Oro City (3 February) -- Parents were enthralled by how much they still needed to learn on effective parenting. This was so when the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)-X conducted recently the Parent Education Congress, an annual activity where parent volunteers and employees from local and national agencies learn on dealing with children.
The seminar, which was held last January 20, was able to discuss on developing self-esteem for their children and how to communicate with them, even during times when they are even in the state of anger.
DSWD Social Workers Sean Pamela Balais and Concepcion Dorado also shared to them the techniques on relating with their children and the roles of the family and the media on preventing drug abuse.
Mario Mansequiao, Population Commission representative, also presented to the participants the salient features of House Bill 5043, also known as the Reproductive Health Bill. (SWO I) [top]
