PNP PRO-08 hails Eastern Samar PNP, LGU

By Alice Nicart

Borongan City (4 February) -- Chief Superintendent Rey Lanada, who is the Assistant Regional Director of the Philippine National Police Regional Office 8, Camp Kangleon, Palo Leyte, was all praises to the PNP Eastern Samar Provincial Command and Governor Ben Evardone for having completed the vehicle needs of the PNP force here.

This he said in his message during the turn-over ceremony today at the Capitol lobby.

"In the name of my boss, Regional Director Abner Cabalquinto, I wish to convey our gratitude to the Provincial Local Government Unit of Eastern Samar through Gov. Evardone for supporting the cause of the PNP, particularly in the acquisition of this very basic need of our policemen, the vehicle," Lanada said.

However, the police officer stressed to his personnel that maximum care and maintenance must be afforded of the vehicles and these must be used for official functions only: patrolling, intelligence operation, traffic investigation and for other official services.

"In fact," he added speaking to the policemen in attendance, "shortly before I left for Borongan, Dir. Cabalquinto reminded me to stress his message to all of you that any feedback from the public must be in accordance to the reformation of the PNP."

Lanada also mentioned that no less than PNP Chief Jesus Versoza during his visit to Region 8 recently, singled out Eastern Samar province which should be given priority due to the economic problem that beset the area with the underlying problems thereat. He said that the province needs utmost attention.

"Therefore, I urge everyone in the PNP here, let us be one in this cause, particularly in regard to the maintenance of peace and order condition," Lanada concluded. (PIA-Eastern Samar) [top]
