Lingayen, Pangasinan (9 February) -- Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. delivered his report on the State of the Province (SOPA) today, February 9 at the Provincial Capitol Plaza in this capital town during the 60th regular session of the sangguniang panlalawigan.
Pangasinenses got an update on the progress of Espino's developmental thrusts he had laid down in his previous SOPA particularly on peace and order, health, agriculture, education, tourism, infrastructure and employment, among other things.
The Governor reviewed the progress of his administration's performance since he assumed the position last July 2007, and then voiced his aspirations for the province for the year.
Peace and order, he said, remained on top of his agenda along with health care and hospital services even as construction of roads and bridges, livelihood and employment, quality education, sustained agricultural production and eco-tourism.
"We are now in the midst of difficult and trying times, and we have to find effective ways and means to create opportunities for our people," he said as he asked the full support and cooperation of the people.
Following the SOPA report was the traditional courtesy call which gave the public a chance to meet some of the elected local and regional officials and local government units. (PIA Pangasinan) [top]
