BIR mobile team visits large NGAs, LGUs to process 2008 income tax returns
Tacloban City (February 9) -- A Mobile Team of Revenue Officers will make the rounds of large National Government Agencies and Local Government Units in order to render advance appropriate assistance to government employees who wish to avail of early filing of their income tax returns.
This was bared by the Bureau of Internal Revenue Eastern Visayas Region through its dynamic Regional Director, Atty. Araceli L. Francisco.
Director Francisco said that the RR-14 Mobile Team composed of audit and enforcement officers of Revenue District 88, will receive and process 2008 ITRs as well as answer queries and give the necessary clarifications on issues related to tax matters.
This scheme, Director Francisco said, is aimed at providing convenience to employees who wish to avoid the heavy traffic of tax filers during the April 15, 2009 deadline of income tax filing.
This pre-income tax filing activity may also be availed of by government corporations, state colleges and universities, within RR-14 jurisdiction, Ms. Paulina Buitizon, BIR Public Information Officer designate said.
Those who wish to avail of this assistance may make a written request to the BIR Region 8 office, to arrange, at their convenience, the visit of the mobile Revenue Team to their respective offices.
Interested parties may inform the BIR by calling Revenue District Officer Imelda D. Cebuano, at telephone numbers 524-9320; 323-4551 or the RR-14 Taxpayer Assistance Unit at telephone number 524-9124.
Director Francisco called on all compensation earners to avoid the rush by filing their 2008 ITRs early at the nearest BIR office in their respective areas. (PIA 8) [top]
