BFP calendars activities for Fire Prevention Month
Bacolod City (11 February) -- The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bacolod City, headed by Pamela Candido, has lined up activities for the Fire Prevention Month in March on the theme "Fire Safety: A Challenge, Concern and Priority for Everybody".
The fire station will kick off the yearly observance with the traditional motorcade along the traditional motorcade along the main streets of Bacolod City to be participated in by different volunteer fire brigades, namely, Amity Emergency Service Foundation, Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade, Tanduay Volunteer Fire Brigade as well as representatives from both government and non-government organizations in Bacolod City.
Activities this year are aimed at raising the level of public awareness and encouraging community participation concerning fire safety and prevention.
The fire prevention month is commemorated every year by virtue of Presidential Proclamation 115-A, signed by then President Ferdinand E. Marcos.
Meanwhile, fire safety inspection on different establishments and other occupancies shall be intensifies.
The Bureau of Fire is also reminding the community to be vigilant in their share of fire safety and prevention. (PIA/cad) [top]
